Also known as I Had No Heirs in the Harem, So I Turned Around and Married the Nine-Thousand-Year Lord. [Palace Intrigue + Household Intrigue + Infertility + Remarriage to the Nine-Thousand-Year Lord + Tormenting Scoundrels + Face-Slapping + Political Schemes + Miracle Doctor and Poison Testing + Two Powerful Leads]
A clear-headed heroine who plans every move against a deeply inscrutable Chief Eunuch who plays the game from behind the scenes.
On the eve of entering the palace, Shen Tang stumbles upon a shocking secret: the harem's infertility isn't Heaven's punishment, but a human conspiracy. Her mother died because of this plot to make the imperial household heirless. If she enters the palace as planned, she'll be next. So she turns around and marries Yan Jiu, the Nine-Thousand-Year Lord who holds power over the entire court. Everyone says she's mad, but only she knows this is part of her plan. She holds the only prescription that can cure the poison causing infertility. Using it as bait, she trains the powerful eunuch, brings down the harem, and overturns the court. Their marriage is an alliance, not a love match; never again putting her back in someone else's hands is her bottom line for survival. Watch as the daughter of an imperial physician goes from pawn to player, one step at a time.
