Someone placed a curse on Master's heart, forcing him to endure the agony of being flayed alive every day. With death close at hand, the Spirit Control Bureau extended his life by five years.
The Spirit Control Bureau said they could cure him completely, but there was a catch: Master had to take on five genius disciples, get them all to Foundation Establishment within five years, and have each of them earn 50,000 Spirit Control Points.
Zhu Fei: ??? Five years, five geniuses, and 50,000 Spirit Control Points? And the ones who have to pull this off are a master whose cultivation is completely crippled and who has only a breath left, and a useless disciple with no spiritual roots? What kind of hellish joke is this!
But there was no choice. For this one tiny glimmer of hope, she had to try. Then she found out that every one of these genius junior disciples had it worse than the last...
Her second junior brother is a genius with earth spiritual roots. Cultivating makes him hurt so much that the whole sect calls him a lazy good-for-nothing and kicks him out. Zhu Fei shoves him into the icy spring in the immortal residence. "Don't listen to those frogs in a well. I can cure you."
Her third junior sister has water spiritual roots, and her whole family has been exiled. To protect her chastity, she ruined her own face. Zhu Fei uses precious herbs from the immortal residence to make her a beauty pill. "From now on, you and I are the two beauties of the Heaven-Defying Sect!"
Her fourth junior brother has wood spiritual roots, but he studies poison instead of medicine. He's beautiful and venomous, and no sect will take him. Zhu Fei applauds whenever he makes a move. "Junior brother, you're the best!"
Her fifth junior brother has metal spiritual roots. He's an assassin who crawled out of a pile of corpses. His karmic burden is so great that he went through the Eighteen Levels of Hell ahead of time and nearly had his soul scattered. Zhu Fei leads the entire sect in mining ore to build him a soul-nourishing house. "Fifth junior brother, we'll wait for you."
She accidentally gathers all five elemental spiritual roots. Zhu Fei: Wait, with a lineup like this, Spirit Control Bureau, are you hiding some big move?
