After transmigrating to a supernatural world overrun by zombies, Chen Fan awakens the Daoist Arts Infinite Upgrade System. A once-in-a-millennium genius of Maoshan, he becomes the senior fellow disciple of Uncle Jiu, Lin Jiu.
When evil spirits wreak havoc in Renjia Town, the villagers have their souls stolen and their lives put in peril for seven days.
Chen Fan descends the mountain to help, slays a general-level evil spirit overflowing with baleful energy, breaks a feng shui blood sacrifice formation used to nurture corpses, and foils a wicked feng shui master's plot for revenge.
He sweeps away wandering souls and vengeful ghosts along the way, accumulating merit as his Daoist arts repeatedly break through their limits.
But he has no idea that, behind the red-clad ghost he killed, a thousand-year-old fiend lies sleeping. An even greater supernatural crisis is already lurking in the shadows.
