I Was Just a Scrap Collector, and Now I'm the Chairman?

[Strong Urban Female Lead] [Contrasting Identities] [Face-Slapping Comeback]

The Yanqiao Group is on the verge of collapse. More than two thousand workers are waiting to be paid, while truckload after truckload of factory equipment is being sold off as scrap.

Jiang Zhaowan walks into the boardroom carrying a cardboard box, with mud from the recycling yard still on her shoes. Someone pinches their nose and laughs. "A scrap collector thinks she can be chairwoman?"

She takes an old part from the box and slams it onto the table.

"You sold this yesterday. The inventory list says it can't be reused. Where's the inspection report?"

No one can produce one. The entire batch of old parts scheduled to leave the factory the next day is halted on the spot.

Her uncle gives her ninety days: if she can't make payroll, she can get out. Everyone expects her to admit defeat, but instead, she heads straight to the salvage yard. The purchasing manager swears there are exactly sixty boxes, not one less. She counts them herself and finds eight missing.

Jiang Zhaowan pins the inventory results to the wall. "The people who laughed at me for picking through junk yesterday, who's going to explain where these eight boxes went today?"
