You Asked Me to Sell Pressure Cookers, and I Became an Arms Dealer?

After waking up one morning, Jiang Ye, a top modern-day chief engineer, is reborn in 1981 as the director of Hongxing Machinery Factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy.

From the start, the difficulty is hellish: the products aren't selling, wages have stopped, and Shen Jingqiu, a junior clerk in the factory office, is so anxious she's in tears.

Looking at the unsold "pressure cookers" made from specialty steel in the warehouse, Jiang Ye waves a hand. "If we can't sell them at home, we'll export them!"

Before long, the factory's "civilian goods" are selling overseas, and things start getting absurd...

An overseas tycoon: "Director Jiang, these 'pressure cookers' of yours are built like tanks and completely airtight. They cook meat incredibly fast! Send us another five thousand!"

A tribal chief: "Brother Jiang, those 'large-capacity gas cylinders' and 'seamless steel pipes' you sold us are fantastic. Our whole village's infrastructure depends on them!"

Faced with the world's astonishment, Jiang Ye looks utterly innocent at a press conference. "Let me say this again: we're a legitimate civilian enterprise. Our products are simply sturdy and durable."

Standing behind him, Shen Jingqiu looks at the astonishing foreign currency reserves in the account book and falls into deep thought...
