[Western Fantasy] [Dragons] [Growth] [Conquest] [Pseudo-System] [Not Traditional D&D]
In an age when the gods have fallen,
in some godforsaken backwater,
a red dragon hatchling was born.
Red dragons are born destroyers.
But Caesar was different.
Afraid of dying, he had no desire to plunder great cities. Instead, he plunged straight into the mountains, seized a mountain pass, and founded a Protection Association.
He charged merchant caravans a fee and coaxed the nearby tribes into paying tribute on time.
"Boss, they say we're robbing them."
"Give him some of our five-spice flattery. By Tiamat, I swear I'm only using my strength to protect their property, then taking a small commission in return."
"Boss, the beastfolk tribe next door says our gang are bandits. They refuse to pay tribute."
"What gang? How many times have I told you, we're an association."
"Damn, they dare call us bandits? They've got some nerve."
"Grab your weapons, boys! Let's get the bastards!"
No one could have imagined that the Red Dragon Empire, which would one day span multiple worlds, had begun as nothing more than an unremarkable mound in the wilderness.
It all started on this little hillside.
