(An unconventional System story + absurd humor + no CP + ensemble cast)
The Shen siblings transmigrate into a male-oriented cultivation novel about an underdog's rise to power, as a pair of cannon-fodder villain siblings. In the original story, one sibling dies, the other turns evil, and then dies too.
To survive, they have to complete System missions, follow the fixed plot, earn points, and extend their lifespans. Once they help the male lead cultivate and ascend, they can return to their own world.
But here's the problem: in the original story, the younger sister, Shen He, dies in the mortal realm right at the start, never even making it to the cultivation world. Originally, only the older brother, Shen Chi, was supposed to transmigrate, but for some reason Shen He came along too. The System was a damn little fool and bound itself to the younger sister by mistake, then hurriedly transferred itself to the older brother.
The inexperienced System split itself in two, becoming System 2.0, shared by the siblings.
The younger sister reads the lines; the older brother puts on a show.
Refuse to act? That's impossible. They'd never refuse to act in this life, because you never know what random punishment the System will come up with.
At the palace banquet, the emperor considers having Shen He serve as a study companion to the princess. Shen He and Shen Chi sit there as still as chickens, not daring to move.
The emperor adds, "I have long known that the Shen family's daughter has set her heart on Jing'an, her feelings sincere and unwavering through the years. Such devotion is rare. I intend to arrange a marriage between the two of you. Are you willing?"
Shen He answers earnestly, "Your subject is neither talented nor virtuous, and is truly unworthy of such a great responsibility. Why not let my elder brother, Shen Chi, take my place?"
Everyone looks at Shen Chi, head bowed, wearing a bashful smile as he secretly giggles at the table...
?? Is this right??
