[Farmer's Son] [Daily Life] [Following the Army] [Not Wish Fulfillment] [Studying for the Top Scholar's Exam] [Grindset King] [Making His Dad Work Hard]
Wang Tiedan swears he really never meant to rebel. All he wanted was to pass the imperial examinations and earn an official title.
But he never imagined that after giving it everything he had and finally becoming the top scholar, the whole realm would descend into chaos.
The northern barbarians are besieging the city, and refugees are flooding across the land. That would be bad enough!
But he's a gentleman! A scholar!
To think this world would force a scholar to pick up a blade. Honestly...
"People's hearts aren't what they used to be!"
"Dad, how about I get you a golden hat?"
"What? Tiedan, what did you say?"
"Nothing. I was just saying these people have made life so hard for you, Dad..."
(The early story focuses on studying for the imperial examinations and pushing his dad to work hard! In the middle, he rallies the armies of the various regional commanders as the top scholar and calls on them to defend the emperor, pushing his dad to work hard some more. In the later part, he drives back the northern barbarians and is forced to ascend the throne as emperor! He pushes his dad to work hard all over again.)
It's a good read, it's a daily novel, slow-paced, but I like it
