Outrageous! My Dog Is Not Wasteland Emergency Rations

On the snowy plains after the Great Calamity, people survived on two things: meat they hunted and old goods they dug up.

Eighteen-year-old Chen Ye did both.

When other people searched the ruins, they cared only about how much the copper and iron weighed. But from a discarded core that nobody wanted, he could tell what it had originally been used for.

The first thing he made was a tube of ointment. Nobody in the settlement took it seriously until a man who was nearly at death's door applied it and walked home on his own the next day.

The ointment became a hit. One person after another came along, wanting to copy the formula, steal his goods, or ask where he had learned his skill.

Someone asked him to his face, "Who taught you how to do that?"

Chen Ye smiled. "I found it."
