The World Between Us is adapted from Liang Xiaosheng's Mao Dun Literature Prize-winning novel of the same name. Set in Guangzi Block, a working-class neighborhood in a northern city, it follows the ups and downs experienced over nearly fifty years by the Zhou family's three siblings, Zhou Bingyi (played by Xin Baiqing), Zhou Rong (played by Song Jia), and Zhou Bingkun (played by Lei Jiayin), along with more than a dozen other ordinary people. It offers a sweeping portrait of the profound changes in Chinese society and celebrates the resilience, perseverance, optimism, and determination of ordinary people as they face life's hardships.
