One day, Big Orange Yuanbao woke up to find himself fifteen days before the long winter began.
In his previous life, he and his wife, Huajuan, huddled together, starving for three days before freezing to death beneath the endless snow.
This time, Yuanbao had just three things to do:
Stock up on food, stock up on firewood, and find a den where they could survive the winter!
While all the animals still had no idea disaster was coming, Yuanbao dragged a sack of food bigger than himself and threw himself into a frantic life of stockpiling.
He went from being a Big Orange who only wanted to survive the winter to ruling a "cat kingdom" with a granary, fishpond, medicinal herb garden, and underground passageways.
Gradually, Yuanbao began to realize:
This winter seemed even longer than the last...
