Shen Mingtang has transmigrated.
The day she opens her eyes, someone is pressing her head down and stuffing her into a bright-red bridal sedan.
Only after marrying into the Chong'an Marquis household does she learn that the family is so poor even the servants have all run away.
Even more absurdly, the Marquis, Xie Changning, is actually a woman.
One empty marquis's estate, two women.
She gathers a household of women who have all suffered misfortune, then starts businesses, opens a school for girls, and runs a pharmacy, single-handedly building up half the sky.
The more prosperous the estate becomes, the nastier the rumors get.
The Chong'an Marquis is said to be a lecher, taking concubine after concubine.
She never explains.
Only she knows that every small sedan brought through the gates carries a young woman she risked everything to protect.
Until one day, an imperial edict crashes into the marquis's estate, shocking the entire court. The person carried in by that small sedan was never a pushover for others to manipulate.
