The first time I saw her was at the AUX Music Festival in Chicago. She was shoved by an excited fan behind her and bumped into my back. She lowered her head to apologize, not daring to look at me, then slipped into a spot in the corner. I noticed her. She wasn't like the other frenzied fans. She quietly watched the noisy, bustling stage. The people around me smelled pretty bad from dancing along to the music, so I subtly moved a little closer to her. She didn't notice.
