Jiang Miao, a top assassin, gets bound to some kind of redemption System and told to save a villain who has done every evil imaginable.
Though she doesn't understand, she approaches every mission with reverence and immediately kills the villain! She even blows his corpse to pieces!
Redemption? Isn't that God's job?
The System, blown to a charred crisp while trying to retrieve the corpse, says, "I fucking told you to save him, not kill him! And God isn't our employee! Reform him! Use love, move him with love, got it?"
The grumbling System quickly resets the world to an earlier point in time.
After getting an earful from the System, Jiang Miao gets it.
So she kidnaps the heroine the villain has a crush on and hypnotizes her: "You're his wife. His wife!"
While she's at it, she buries the male lead. "Heh heh heh! If you're dead, no one can compete with the villain for her."
Unfortunately, the protagonists' plot armor is just too strong.
And so Jiang Miao never turns back from the road of hypnotizing the heroine and burying the male lead.
Much later...
The heroine learns hypnosis and studies psychology on her own. She learns to love herself. A relative tries to manipulate her? Dump them! A rich young lady bullies her? Hit back! The old fossils in her family cling to their outdated ways? Give them a thrashing!
The male lead learns how to bury people, smile while hiding a knife, and resort to crooked methods at the slightest disagreement.
Once they start down that path, wow, it's so damn satisfying!
And Jiang Miao, the one who did all the work without taking credit, gets the two protagonists to kneel before her for the first time.
"Master! Please accept this disciple's bow!"
As for the villain, he's long since become Jiang Miao's little sidekick.
"Wifey, give me a kiss."
The System watching all this is on the verge of madness, especially when it sees the glaring title of Big Villain over Jiang Miao's head! And the little "Villain" titles over the two protagonists and the actual villain.
It regrets everything so much it could turn its guts green.
