Chen Hansheng, a 35-year-old deliveryman, sees his life hit rock bottom when his marriage falls apart, debts pile up, and a family member falls ill.
After an accident, he activates the Otherworld System. Complete a mission, and he gets a reward.
Each mission sends him to a random place for anything from a few months to decades, while time in the real world remains frozen.
For his very first mission, he arrives at a courtyard home in Nanluoguxiang.
From then on, he is sometimes a good husband who builds a fortune, sometimes a great general commanding thousands of troops;
sometimes he matches wits in Handong, sometimes he becomes a martial arts master passing down peerless techniques;
and sometimes he is a hidden powerhouse in a cultivation sect, able to turn the clouds with a wave of his hand and summon rain with the other, becoming the key to saving the stars.
Whenever he returns to reality after completing a mission, he leaves the people who looked down on him stunned and full of regret.
