The First Night After I Moved In, I Listened to Him All Night

The day Qin Yin was laid off, she was carrying 38,000 yuan in debt when she moved into a shared apartment in an old residential complex.

The agent said the other room was locked and used for storage. Nobody lived there.

On her first night, she came out of the shower and ran into a man wearing nothing but shorts.

Ji Yu, the landlord's son.

He gave her ten rules, every one of them seeming designed to keep her in check. But rule number nine was: If there's no need, don't move out.

The walls were thin. When he turned over, his breathing brushed the back of her neck. One night, he went out onto the balcony, brought in her wet clothes, folded them, and left them by the door with a note: It's windy. Don't leave them outside.

When she got sick, he kept watch outside her door all night and cooked her congee. The rice grains were still whole.

Everyone thought they were just neighbors who had recently met.

Only she didn't know...

The person who had fallen by the roadside on that rainy night three years ago, the one she'd put a bandage on, was him.

Locked in his cabinet was a notebook, one line per page, all about her.

He moved in last March. She moved in last July.

She never told him, but that wall had been quietly telling her, one sentence at a time, that he had loved her for three years.
