"Write it down more firmly. I don't want to go with my son."
The nursing home is about to shut down. Shen Jia comes by to assess a resident's care needs, only to meet an old woman asking her to make her seem more confused than she really is.
Some pretend to have memory loss; others hide their wheelchairs. The fate of sixty elderly residents has already been settled by a list marked "voluntary."
Following the list, Shen Jia discovers that some people lie for money, some do it so they won't be left behind, and others do it so no one else will leave.
She thinks that uncovering the truth will let her protect them.
Until the person she most wants to protect rejects her plans to her face.
When everyone says, "It's for your own good," who is still listening to what you want?
