City Benevolence Clinic

At twenty-seven or twenty-eight, Li Dong had spent ten years studying medicine in the mountains. After his master passed away, he came down from the mountains and opened a small clinic in an old street in Linjiang City.

Strange illnesses that Western medicine couldn't diagnose, wellness centers fleecing their customers, and fake traditional doctors running rampant: genuine folk medicine was struggling to survive.

He possessed the golden finger "Medical Pulse Communion": by touching acupoints, he could glimpse memories revealing the cause of an illness, but he could use it only three times a day. Each time, it helped him pinpoint the problem.

He treated a housewife's back pain, saved a boy injured in a fall, and exposed a fake medicine scam. With his skill, he broke through people's prejudices, and word of his reputation quietly spread.

Faced with a siege by powerful business interests, recruitment efforts by the elite, and a smear campaign, he refused to curry favor or back down, remaining true to his calling as a doctor.

From being ignored by everyone to drawing a steady stream of patients with difficult cases, he brought a glimmer of hope to folk Chinese medicine on the bustling old street.
