[Taoist Priest] [Magic Academy] [Taoist Arts, Magic, and Masterful Techniques] [Lighthearted]
Tao Du is a young Taoist priest from the Three Pure Ones sect. He just graduated from high school and is weighing his university options: the Yanjing Taoist Academy or the Jiangnan Taoist Academy.
One day, a believer invites him to take care of something in the West, and enjoy a trip while he's at it.
On his first day after arriving, an owl lands on his shoulder and drops a gold-embossed letter:
[St. Merlin's Royal Academy of Magic: Letter of Admission.]
Tao Du stares at the owl in disbelief, then points at himself.
"Go to a magic academy? Who, me?"
He casts a divination on the spot.
[The luckiest of omens.]
[This journey will be most auspicious. Enrollment is advised.]
"All right, I'm already here anyway."
And so, a Taoist priest from eastern China, fresh out of his final year of high school and carrying a box of talismans, a peachwood sword, and three copper coins, enrolls at the West's top magic academy.
The Sorting Hat flies onto Tao Du's head and promptly crashes.
In magic class, the professor asks the students to demonstrate their magical talents.
The others conjure fireballs, cast ice shards, and summon elemental spirits.
Tao Du pulls out a sheet of yellow talisman paper. "This humble priest doesn't know magic. I only know how to draw talismans."
The professor sneers. "Talismans? Just Muggle superstition..."
Before he can finish, a [Nine Heavens Thunder Talisman] strikes, sending the professor and his lectern flying thirty meters away.
The whole school: "???"
And so, a new school rule is added.
[Using "Magical Little Yellow Papers" in the classroom is prohibited!]
Tao Du: Oh? Then this humble priest can start refining pills, setting up formations, and performing ritual steps...
