A sharp-tongued, protective heroine who stays calm and rational but acts on a whim, and an upbeat, devoted golden-retriever hero who is direct and affectionate. Older woman, younger man.
Zhou Nanxi is an emergency doctor at a top-tier hospital. She opens her eyes and finds herself in the remote mountains of southwest China in 1972, having landed right in the middle of a human trafficking den.
She fights back with her bare hands and flees through the mountains, where she runs into Lu Yan, a deputy regiment commander on a border defense mission.
Lu Yan thinks he's saved a pitiful young woman, only to discover she was the one who took down the entire gang of traffickers along the way.
Without an identity or household registration, she's about to be investigated. In desperation, Zhou Nanxi blurts out her grandmother Shen Yuru's name, interrupting her grandparents' blind date in the process.
Even more absurdly, her grandmother Shen Yuru has been reborn! Recognizing Zhou Nanxi, she quickly makes up a backstory, and Zhou Nanxi takes the new name Shen Nanxi.
Shen Nanxi has a top-tier hospital space with unlimited supplies, capable of treating the sick and saving lives. But she was stabbed to death by a patient's family member in her previous life, so all she wants is to keep a low profile and live in peace.
But the troublemakers keep showing up: her greedy cousin wants to trade her for a job, the neighbor spreads rumors that she's an enemy spy, and the villagers are jealous that she's caught the eye of an officer...
Then Shen Nanxi saves a pregnant woman suffering from an amniotic fluid embolism and stops an epidemic from spreading. The villagers begin to admire her, and officer Lu Yan starts looking at her differently.
Later, Shen Nanxi hands over her hospital System space to the country. From then on, she's never without a bodyguard, helps the country's medical sector develop at a rapid pace, and even earns foreign currency along the way.
With Shen Nanxi's support, her grandmother Shen Yuru also gets into university and becomes a renowned fashion designer.
From then on, the village women who envied her are dumbfounded, the neighbors who wanted to report her are on their knees, and the military families in the compound who ostracized Shen Nanxi are panicking.
