Sang Wantang arrived in Qingxi Town and rented a riverside old house that had stood empty for three years. The house was in terrible disrepair, but there she met Asang, a limping black cat. In the stove, Asang was protecting several kittens, one of which had already died. Sang Wantang decided to stay, set about repairing the collapsed stove, and planned to open a small restaurant there. Business was slow when she first opened, and the owner of the noodle shop next door, Old Sun, made things difficult for her. Her first customer was a backpacker who had lost his way, and a simple bowl of yangchun noodles won him over. Even with scarce ingredients and little money, Sang Wantang stayed true to herself and cooked earnestly, using the skills her grandfather had taught her. One rainy day, an old man came in to shelter from the rain. A bowl of authentic yangchun noodles brought back memories of the past. The old house, the warmth of daily life, and the black cat gradually came together to form a little world of her own.
