[Heartbreaking Romance] [Historical Intrigue] [Swapped Souls] [A Relentless Push and Pull] [BE Aesthetics] [A Bitter, Fated Love]
The day the enemy army breached the city, Jiang Kugou was pierced by countless arrows, but her soul ended up inside the body of a mute assassin.
She follows the mute all the way back to the Great Yuan camp.
There, she witnesses her once-proud, valiant fiance, Yan Weilou, kneeling before another "Jiang Kugou" and wiping the blood from the tips of her shoes.
The impostor steps on his spine, laughs in Jiang Kugou's voice, and uses her hands to offer a cup of poisoned wine, handing the Great Yuan military defense plans over to Nanjiang.
Yan Weilou swallows the poison. Spitting blood, he shields the impostor in his arms, willing to be reviled by the whole world as a traitorous dog, all to buy her one day of peace.
Jiang Kugou watches in cold silence as he gives everything to "her." She swallows the bitterness in her throat, turns resolutely away, and, in the body of an assassin, takes up the broken saber to fight for Great Yuan once more.
Until the day the snowstorm buries her head in white and the impostor drops her pretense, intent on destroying her body.
Yan Weilou beheads the impostor with a single stroke. He sits beside that empty shell for three days and nights, until at last, amid a pool of blood, he grabs the mute assassin who happens to pass by.
"Gugou, put down the saber. Come look at me, will you?"
But behind her lies a mass grave of countless bones. She can never turn back.
The writing is good, but I like light and humorous content. This one is a bit heavy and not my cup of tea.
The author's writing skills are great
