Lu Wenqiao suddenly disappeared while they were dating. After Yan Zhao found her, he took her straight to the civil affairs bureau to register their marriage.
The day after they got their marriage certificate, Lu Wenqiao told Yan Zhao she was going to appear on a dating reality show.
Yan Zhao used his money and influence to join the same show as an investor, keeping his eyes on her the whole time.
After the show ended, the whole internet was busy shipping them when Yan Zhao's verified account posted a marriage certificate: "How did you know my wife is Wenqiao OV0?"
Yan Zhao: "I've kept it hidden for so long. I can finally post it!"
Only then did everyone realize this wasn't a dating show at all. It was a married couple's publicly funded romance, just a little game between two lovebirds, with everyone else playing a part in their little performance.
