Chen Jizu transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty during a drought in Hexi. On the road to Chang'an, where he's traveling as a refugee, he meets a dying young man.
Chen Jizu carries out the young man's last wish by visiting his relative, an official stationed far away in Chang'an.
But this relative is always asking strange questions.
"Jizu, how did you build this water-powered dragon-bone waterwheel?"
"Jizu, can I have two more of your antibiotics?"
"Jizu, recite that poem you wrote the other day. I didn't remember it properly."
Chen Jizu smiles and says, "We've spent so much time together, brother. I don't hold anything back from you, and you don't keep anything from me. Why don't we become sworn brothers and share the good fortune?"
And so...
"I, Chen Jizu, wish to become sworn brothers with you. We need not be born on the same day or die on the same day; we need only share our good fortune."
"I, Li Shimin, wish to become sworn brothers with you. We need not be born on the same day or die on the same day; we need only share our good fortune."
Chen Jizu: "Wait! What did you say your name was? Li Shimin? Which Li Shimin?"
"You're the emperor of the Tang Dynasty?"
I have basically read all of the author's books and they are all quite good to me.
The previous book was poorly written
