Xue Baochai Goes on a Killing Spree

After waking up, modern-day Xue Baobao finds herself transmigrated into Xue Baochai from Dream of the Red Chamber, destined to spend her life alone in an empty boudoir.

From the start, Xue Pan’s murder case is still unresolved, the Xue family is heading to the capital to seek refuge with relatives, and rumors of a “gold-and-jade match” are spreading throughout the Jia household. Everyone wants to use her golden locket as a marriage contract and push her into shielding the family from disaster.

But she refuses to accept her fate.

The golden locket can protect her, but it cannot bind anyone. Marriage ties can be used to gain influence, but she will not sell a daughter to buy the family’s safety.

She reorganizes the Xue family’s trade routes, reins in her troublemaking elder brother, uncovers the Jia estate’s financial shortfall, stands up to Lady Wang’s forced marriage plans, and joins forces with Daiyu, Tanchun, and Xifeng to expose the rotten accounts and schemes beneath the mansion’s glittering prosperity.

While everyone waits to see Baochai enter the game and compete for favor, she turns around and upends the gold-and-jade match.

Daiyu is no longer a pawn in marriage negotiations. Tanchun no longer has to bear the blame alone. Xiangyun dares to fight for her own future, and Xifeng leaves a glimmer of hope for Qiaojie.

When Yuanchun dies, the Jia family teeters on the brink of ruin, and the search of the household is imminent, everyone finally realizes:

The Xue Baochai who was supposed to be the most demure and patient has long since taken the golden locket in hand and turned the fate of the entire Dream of the Red Chamber upside down.
