In the ninth year of Yongping, there was a mountain retreat on Laojun Mountain, east of Qinghe County. A Taoist who refined ghosts lived there.
The Taoist was called Wu Xian. He was eighteen, and because of a bronze cauldron, his soul had been reincarnated into a fictional world abandoned by immortals and gods.
Without the protection of immortals and gods, ghosts ran rampant in this world. But for that very reason, Wu Xian had a chance to refine and devour ghosts in hopes of grasping a sliver of immortality.
