The Peak of Reversal [Tales from Nuwa Village]

During summer vacation, Ren Shaxian and several classmates travel to the hometown of their friend Qing Jing to conduct field research. It's a peculiar little mountain village called Was Shen. Most of its residents are women, living in seclusion. They see women as friends and men as evil.

As the trip progresses, Ren Shaxian uncovers the village's hidden crime: human trafficking. But the village's food chain is the exact opposite of the outside world. The women buy men, and the male classmate who came with them becomes the sacrificial lamb.

An old pair of boots reveals a story buried for twenty years.

A young man with a bright future was trapped in the village and could never leave.

He had told Qing Jing countless times about equality and freedom in the outside world.

But when Qing Jing finally set foot in that world, she discovered that so-called equality and freedom were never meant for her.
