Married Off to the Eastern Palace, the Tyrant Has Been Plotting for Ages

"Little sister, that crown prince is disfigured and crippled, a monster who eats people. How could the legitimate daughter of the prime minister's household marry him? You take my place!"

Three years later, the new emperor ascended the throne. The legitimate elder sister, who had eloped with a poor scholar and suffered hardship outside the palace, learned that the new emperor had both legs intact and was breathtakingly handsome. Her eyes reddened with jealousy.

Clutching the marriage document from back then, she caused a scene at the enthronement ceremony and pointed at Song Shuyue beside the dragon throne, shrieking, "I'm the real empress! Song Shuyue, you lowly illegitimate daughter, get down right now!"

The civil and military officials gasped, all assuming that the fake empress who had taken her sister's place was doomed.

Yet the famously brutal, bloodthirsty emperor casually drew the sword of a palace guard. A flash of cold light, and the marriage document was shredded to pieces.

He pulled the delicate woman beside him into his arms and gently covered her ears with his large hand, while his piercing eyes glared at the elder sister as if she were already dead.

"If I hadn't ordered the city gates opened in the middle of the night back then, do you think you could have escaped to elope?"

"I laid this vast net to make sure I could marry Yue'er into the palace openly and honorably!"

The entire hall fell silent. The elder sister collapsed to the ground, while Song Shuyue blushed in the emperor's embrace.
