The First-Rank Chief Minister’s Food-Guarding Little Demon Bride

Jiang Xiaorong, the timid, food-loving little fox spirit from Mount Tu, comes down the mountain to repay a debt of gratitude.

She was supposed to seek out a refined and gentle prince, but one bite of osmanthus cake proves too tempting. Dizzy with delight, she tumbles straight into the arms of Pei Ji, the bloodthirsty, tyrannical chief minister.

Jiang Xiaorong is so scared she grabs his leg and begs for her life on the spot: “Waaah, benefactor, I'm easy to feed and don't eat much. Please don't kill me!”

They say the chief minister is a monster who skins people alive and commits every evil under the sun. The whole capital waits to see how this gorgeous little airhead will die.

But later, at the spring banquet, the prince who is her true benefactor bullies and coerces Jiang Xiaorong.

The power-mad chief minister, who holds the court in his grip, slices through the prince's crown with a single stroke of his sword, then pulls the trembling little fox into his arms and murmurs coaxingly: “Little glutton, break off your engagement to the royal family, and every cook in my residence is yours.”
