A female military doctor transmigrates to ancient times and becomes a little beggar on the street. For a hundred or so taels of silver, she throws herself into the wedding bed of a dying Prince of War.
She marries him to bring him good fortune, just to save her life and make a fortune.
She is happily planning to cure him and spend the rest of her days as a pampered princess consort, only to learn that this handsome, tragic man has had his salary suspended and is poorer than a beggar.
So she cures him, then joins him in farming and building their fortune, clearing his name and navigating court intrigue.
They fight their way all the way to the Golden Throne Hall, and even take on the emperor.
In the end, they win.
The Prince of War regains his identity and status.
She gets everything she wished for, enjoys a life of splendor, and is cherished in the palm of his hand.
She says, "We agreed I was only helping you. I never thought I'd give you my heart, too."
He holds her close and nuzzles against her, murmuring hoarsely, "Don't forget, my life is yours, and so am I. You got a good deal."
