Question: What should you do if you’re reborn just before your company works you to death?

Answer: Terminate your contract, run away, and pick up a kid along the way.

Pei Yuening was a top-tier star and singer who worked himself to death onstage in his previous life.

Reborn in an instant, he opens his eyes just before his untimely death.

Doctor: Hey, handsome, keep singing and you’ll suffocate yourself.

Pei Yuening: ...Go to hell.

Determined to stay alive, Pei Yuening decides to terminate his contract. But just outside the company building, a child rushes up, grabs his leg, and calls him “Mom.”

The trending topics explode: Top-tier star has a child out of wedlock.

Before the shady company can even start grinning, Pei Yuening begins a livestream and gets a paternity test.

The whole internet watches. The result: no relation whatsoever.

But the child is so pitiful that Pei Yuening’s heart softens, and he has no choice but to adopt him. He terminates his contract, sues the company, and gathers evidence, driving his former employer into a corner step by step.

After everything is settled, Pei Yuening takes the child to visit a film set. The kid grabs the leg of the icy-faced Best Actor and calls him “Dad.” Pei Yuening thinks he’s stumbled onto a shocking secret, and he’s not far off.

Because the Best Actor and the child take a paternity test, and the result shows they’re uncle and nephew.

Pei Yuening swears he only wants to raise the child in peace. The night they return from the film set, he plans to thank Luo Ren for letting him raise the kid on his own.

But the Best Actor adds him on WeChat first.

When filming a parenting variety show, Pei Yuening plans to focus on looking after the child and avoid stirring up trouble.

But Luo Ren unexpectedly shows up as a guest, and even keeps telling the kid to call him Dad behind the cameras.

Pei Yuening: Okay, this Best Actor has lost it.
