Reborn in the Pokemon world, Lin Yuan faces the special battle event at the college entrance exams, where everyone is buying rare Pokemon and frantically leveling them up. Lin Yuan spends just forty yuan on an overlooked Magikarp and enters the competition with it. Nobody knows that a Magikarp with the Hidden Ability Rattled is guaranteed to evolve into a Gyarados with Moxie, becoming a battle-hardened Pokemon that only grows more formidable with every fight!
While others train their Pokemon's levels, he hones their battle techniques and skill combinations. Dragon Dance boosts its stats, then Waterfall crashes down; Ice Fang deals four times the damage! From the college entrance exam battle event to the freshman tournament and the university league, the forty-yuan Magikarp sweeps through every challenge.
Sandstorms blot out the sky, the sun blazes, ice freezes the land for miles, and rain pours down: the weather battles begin in full force.
Mega Evolution makes its debut in the professional league, and an unconventional Gyarados shocks the whole arena.
Suicune and Entei appear one after another, while Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza dominate the region.
Using his textbook-level knowledge, Lin Yuan crushes the entire era.
