To pursue knowledge and truth by any means necessary: that is a dark wizard.
Wizards hold a position of unparalleled prestige across every continent and plane.
Mystery, wisdom, curiosity, and research: these are all synonymous with them.
After an accident, Chang Jiang transmigrated to this brutal wizarding world, where the strong prey on the weak. To protect himself and survive, he became a dark wizard, determined to live by any means necessary.
Slow burn, with the early story focused on accumulating knowledge.
Decisive and ruthless + not a saintly protagonist + dark wizard + willing to do anything + no female lead + planar wars
(Set in the world of Wizard's Journey)
(Why does the protagonist have an Eastern name? Because the body he transmigrated into had no name, and he didn't want to change his own.)
