Chen Yuan is a web novelist. While rushing to meet a deadline in the early hours of the morning, he suddenly sees the world split into three sections.
The upper left shows a cultivation world, the upper right his rented apartment, and the bottom a Cthulhu world shrouded in ash.
A fish-eyed creature peers at him through a crack in the wall split open by an axe. "A sacrifice! I've got a sacrifice!"
He calls the police. When they arrive, the bureau chief establishes a new department on the spot: the "Multiverse Dimensional Affairs Bureau."
The chief pats him on the shoulder. "From now on, bring back whatever specialties you like from other worlds. Ask for as much funding and supplies as you want."
The cultivation world assigns him a sword cultivator over a thousand years old as a bodyguard. The real world gives him a monthly salary of 30,000, makes him a bulletproof vest, and stuffs a System into his hands. The Cthulhu world sends him informants, intelligence, and people out to kill him.
His superiors tell him: Try not to get involved in conflicts between other worlds.
Chen Yuan: "Sure thing."
Then he puts on a Dishonored mask, hangs a blue fishman oil lantern from his belt, rides a mechanical dog, and flies forward with his legs spread wide.
He is not a hero. He is simply the only specimen.
The only specimen cannot die.
You can't write creatively, you can't write from three perspectives, just the same perspective on the same day. Harder to write, sure, but alas.
