A Cute Little Prodigy Goes Down the Mountain to Fight Poverty, Leaving Her Five Powerful Brothers Stunned

In 1977, with heavy snow sealing off the mountains, five-and-a-half-year-old Lu Mianmian bravely marched down the mountain to help the poor.

She was determined to keep her five brothers, who were "working like oxen" in the city, from starving to death. With Grandpa's old tobacco pipe tucked into her pocket and a battered bamboo basket on her back, she set off to bring them some warmth.

Who could have guessed that her eldest brother was a battle-hardened general, her second brother a tycoon, her third a miracle doctor, her fourth a chief engineer, and her fifth a top soldier?

But in Mianmian's eyes: Her eldest brother was so poor he didn't even own a bicycle and had to hitch a ride on a drafty old green train. (Actually, he was riding in a limited-edition military jeep.)

Her second brother was so miserable he had to trade scrap metal with people in a dark alley. (Actually, he had a monopoly on the country's entire underground black market.)

Her third brother had blood all over his hands and was so poor he had to boil tree roots and weeds every day. (Actually, he'd just left the operating room and was preparing a century-old miracle medicine.)

Her fourth brother was covered in dust, hauling bricks and mixing mortar at a construction site every day. (Actually, he was directing a top-secret national project.)

Her fifth brother was even worse off, getting beaten up by dozens of people in the mud every day. (Actually, he was putting special forces through hellish training.)

Seeing how "miserable" her brothers' lives were, Mianmian's heart ached. She whipped out a pile of special-issue red banknotes and ten jin of gold bars, then bought up half a street without batting an eye.

She waved her chubby little hand and declared with swagger, "Brothers, quit pretending! From now on, Mianmian will keep you!"

All five top-tier big shots dropped to their knees, close to tears. "Little ancestor, put those gold bars away! We're really not beggars!"
