In the future, 450 years from now, humanity has completely divided into five wholly independent intelligent species in pursuit of immortality, strength, adaptation to disasters, and the breaking of limits: ordinary humans aided by machines, cranial-machine survivors with brain-computer integration, data spirits who have uploaded their consciousness, spiritual cultivators awakened by spiritual qi revival, and intelligent AI beings whose cores have awakened. The flesh-and-blood seek survival, the cranial-machine folk seek longevity, the data seek permanence, the spiritual cultivators seek truth, and the AI seek dominion. The five species share a common origin, yet are locked in bitter conflict, fighting for ultimate control of human civilization in the Milky Way.
