Fang Ye runs a watch-repair shop in an urban village, making a living with his hands. After handling enough old objects, he learns to touch the memories left behind on them.
Three years ago, a gas pipeline exploded in South City. He dragged his partner, Song Chi, out from beneath a collapsed concrete slab, but couldn’t save him. The accident left Fang Ye with an injured left shoulder and a report he personally signed, declaring it an “accident.” After that, he closed up shop, shut himself away, and stopped taking jobs at night.
Three years later, an invitation pulls him back to that night.
