[Past and Present Lives + Modern Reunion + Livestreamed Idol Competition in the Entertainment Industry]
In their previous life, power struggles filled the palace. Crown Prince Yan Yichen plotted at every turn, bearing the heavy responsibility of the empire. By his side, the young shadow guard Su Xingmian was guileless and pure, ignorant of the schemes at court. His sole fixation in life was protecting his master.
During a palace coup and assassination attempt, Su Xingmian took a blade for him beneath a sky full of falling snow, forever remaining in the coldest of nights.
Yan Yichen ascended the throne and ruled over a vast empire, yet carried with him every memory of his previous life and overwhelming regret. He reincarnated for a thousand years, all to find Su Xingmian again.
The day the contestant list was announced, the whole internet was in an uproar.
[Why does the young master of Xingchen suddenly want to enter showbiz and join some idol competition?]
No one knew that Yan Yichen, the young master of Xingchen Entertainment, was entering the competition for no fame, fortune, or recognition. He was there only for a reunion across lifetimes.
The nationally livestreamed idol competition, New Star, Take Your Place, began its theme-song partner selection round.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, Yan Yichen ignored every top trainee who approached him eagerly and walked straight to the bottom-ranked nobody in the corner. His voice low and earnest, he asked:
"Can I choose you?"
Su Xingmian, an amateur with no experience whom nobody noticed, froze in place, his eyes full of confusion and disbelief.
The livestream chat exploded:
[Wait, why did the young master choose him of all people?]
[This inexplicable sense of destiny! I'm shipping them already!]
Yan Yichen:
This meeting was always my journey across a thousand years. I failed him too many times in our previous life. I won't let him down in this one.
Su Xingmian:
I'm just a nobody with no connections. Why does he treat me so differently?
