The serious version:
Shen Yi only agreed to pretend to be with Gu Linan because he wanted a promotion and a raise as soon as possible, and to climb to the top of the world. Besides, it would give Gu Linan some peace and quiet. They both got what they wanted, and as far as Shen Yi was concerned, it was a sure win.
