[Historical Worlds] [Not Your Traditional Power Fantasy] [Traveling Back and Forth Through the River of History] [If You Don't Like It, Hit Me with a Brick]
The First Emperor ascended the throne, and all peoples came to pay homage.
Across the ceremony grounds stood countless foreign peoples from myriad worlds: some with wings growing from their backs, some with human faces and animal bodies, and some riding true dragons through the clouds.
Wang Yu was swept along among the envoys, wishing he could shrink into a speck of dust in the crowd.
But the First Emperor on the high platform looked past all the assembled officials and fixed his gaze on him.
"Wang Yu, you are from a later age. How will posterity judge me?"
How could an ordinary man from the history department of the twenty-first century be recognized by name?
Amid the scornful laughter of the court, he suppressed his fear and clearly spoke four words:
"The greatest emperor of all time."
The whole assembly fell silent. The myriad worlds erupted in an uproar.
Only then did he understand that every "dream" he'd had for more than twenty years had been real.
He had made fire in ancient times, seen oracle bones at the Ruins of Yin, and crawled out of piles of corpses during the Warring States period.
And this night, he had finally reached the true age of empire.
From then on, whenever he fell asleep, he entered history.
The Han dynasty's iron cavalry, the nations of the glorious Tang, the fury of the sea at Yashan, the smoke of war in the First Sino-Japanese War...
In every era, he must leave this civilization a final verdict for posterity.
He could not change the grand course of events, so in the hidden cracks beyond the reach of the history books, he would save one person, protect one scroll, or preserve one spark of fire.
He had meant only to be a bystander.
But every dynasty seemed to be waiting for the same "witness";
In the shadows of the modern world, a group of people standing at the pinnacle of humanity were closing in on him, following the trail of an imperial jade seal.
And who, exactly, was the emperor on the coronation platform, the one who saw through two thousand years of his life at a glance?
