"Do you have to go?"
The man paused and did not answer.
He leaned against the back of the chair, chewed hard in his mouth, swallowed, and put half of the bun in his hand back on the table.
Looking at the two and a half steamed buns left on the plate, he sighed: "How many times have I told you, don't steam just three steamed buns, it's unlucky."
Behind him, the woman tilted her head to the side and remained silent.
The man put his hands on the table, stood up, and walked out.
When he reached the door, the man stopped but did not look back.
Next to his ears, he seemed to be able to hear the woman's even breathing.
Finally, as if he had made up his mind, the man pushed the door open.
Outside, it's pitch black...
