[Female disguises herself as a man + bickering couple + hilarious, sweet romance + traditional intangible cultural heritage + face-slapping villains + mutual devotion + loyal protector + business success]
After faking her death by drowning, Shen Qingtan, the legitimate daughter of a family renowned for its incense, binds her chest, cuts her hair, and transforms herself into a lowly servant boy called "Shen Xiaoqi." She sneaks into her family's old home, now bought by her nemesis, to reclaim the ancestral secret manual!
She expected a life of hardship, but her peerless ability to identify scents turned her fate around. She crafted insect-repelling incense to save a century-old golden-thread nanmu tree, blended calming incense to cure the merchants' insomnia across the city, and casually rolled an incense pellet that stunned the whole of Jiangnan!
The rough-hewn craftsmen in the workshop were all won over by her, and even the cold-faced master craftsman Lu Yanshu, a severe case of obsessive-compulsive disorder who lived by the rules, kept her by his side every day.
But... why has the look in this abstinent minister's eyes grown more and more peculiar?
"Shen Xiaoqi, why do you always smell so feminine?"
"My lord, your servant has simply absorbed the scent!"
Until one day, her secret identity was blown. The cold-faced carpenter cornered her beneath a lattice window and, eyes red, chuckled, "Absorbed the scent? Perfect. I'll have to taste it myself and see how salty you are!"
