On the surface, the world is an ordinary modern city. Hidden from view are the officially sealed-off Anomalies of the Boundary Gaps. A century ago, the barriers between worlds shattered, and countless fragments of otherworldly laws seeped into the human realm, giving rise to superpowered individuals, aberrants, and secret organizations tasked with guarding the boundaries.
The protagonist is a high school senior repeating his final year. His constitution is unusual: he cannot awaken conventional spiritual powers through his own efforts, and every test marks him as average. Yet sealed within him is the forbidden ability Boundary Void Backlash. The more he suppresses his power, the stronger his body becomes and the more terrifying his hidden abilities grow. Using even the slightest surface-level spiritual power makes him extremely weak. But if he lets go of his suppression, he can tear through space and devour aberrant laws, at the cost of being gradually corrupted by an otherworldly will and losing himself.
Official superpowered families and special-affairs testing agencies keep a close watch on him. To the outside world, he is classified as a useless spiritual-power specimen; behind the scenes, he is listed as an anomaly of the highest risk. The protagonist repeats his final year, living the life of an ordinary student while using extreme daily physical training to keep the abyss within him in check.
As Boundary Gap rifts appear one after another in the ruins of old city districts and underground tombs, aberrant creatures begin surfacing with increasing frequency. Forced to unlock his power time and again to protect those around him, the protagonist gradually discovers that every otherworldly rift, every century-old secret, and his own destiny all point to the same buried truth: the barriers of this world were shattered by human hands in the first place.
