The 1970s’ Wolf Cub and Little Lucky Charm: The Whole Family Finds Gold Ingots

[Period Setting] [Lucky Baby] [Animal Speech] [Adored by Everyone] [Doting Father] [Cute Child] [Raising Kids] [Heaven's Own Daughter]

On her way to the market, Zhao Chunhua finds a chubby baby who looks like a little wolf cub!

The little girl is plump and fluffy, with a big dusty-gray tail dragging behind her. She bares her teeth at everyone and makes fierce little "awoo" sounds.

The whole village says the Gu family has gone crazy, and even their daughter-in-law, Liu Xiaoping, slams the door on them. But Zhao Chunhua slaps the table. "This child is fated to be part of our family. From now on, she's my own granddaughter!"

Who knew that keeping her would bring home a lucky little darling!

The girl learns to talk just three days after arriving. Not only can she speak human language, she seems to be able to talk to animals, too! There's not a dog in the village that isn't afraid of her! She and her two older brothers practically run wild through the village.

And ever since Xiao Fu joined the family, the Gu family's life has been like a dream! They dig up wild ginseng in the fields, find a freshly dead wild boar on the mountain, win first prize in a supply cooperative raffle, and even come across a gold ingot while gathering firewood in the woods with Xiao Fu! Junjun and Liangliang follow her around every day, shouting that their little sister is a lucky star!

Only Shen Nian is worried. With her mother-in-law so fiercely protective, if Xiao Fu gets married one day, she'll probably trample the other family's doorstep flat.

Then one day, Shen Nian receives news that her husband has been injured! She packs her things overnight and takes Xiao Fu and her son to join him at his post...
