The carpenter emperor Zhu Youxiao had been called a fool of a ruler for four hundred years. After falling into the water, he somehow became a sixteen-year-old boy.
On the day they tested his spiritual roots, he had all five elements, but they were only low-grade mortal roots. He didn't get upset.
What did make him wary was the thing that appeared in his mind, claiming to be a "System." There was no such thing as a free lunch, and he understood that better than anyone. In his previous life, he had seen too many Daoist practitioners presenting auspicious omens and reporting lucky signs. In the end, he sent them all to the execution ground.
But fate was not his to control. Bai Ran, the sect's most promising candidate for the Golden Core, took a liking to his spiritual roots and accepted him as a disciple.
After that, life was almost too good to be true. His master taught him everything she knew, his senior sister was so gentle she could melt your heart, and his junior sister clung to him every day, calling him "Senior Brother" at every turn. Until the day he reached the peak of Foundation Establishment.
Overjoyed, he went to meet his master for the "great fortune" she'd promised.
Only when the secret chamber door closed behind him did he realize someone wanted to eat him.
After fighting back with all his strength, he discovered that something had been watching him all along.
And then he realized that the System...

It's well written. I've never seen the main character being an emperor. There's also a system that doesn't seem to be useful. It's a bit interesting.
