"That opera singing is so old-fashioned. Korean pop and electronic music are what's trending now. Su Yi, we're giving your Chinese-style song zero points!"
On the stage of Voice of Dreams, the judges who worship foreign things and Su Yi's ex-girlfriend, who had returned from overseas, tore his original Chinese-style song to shreds. Together, they eliminated him and blacklisted him.
Su Yi left the show with a cold laugh. "Chinese pop is the best. You don't understand Chinese culture at all!"
Then he turned around and uploaded a video to Bilibili.
In the video, wearing an opera costume, he launched into a stunning performance of "Chiling": "Those beneath the stage pass by, oblivious to the colors of old..."
In a single night, the whole internet was moved to tears. His opera-style singing amazed the world!
The industry tried to throttle his traffic?
The next day, CCTV's official account pinned and reposted his video: "Though lowly in station, I dare not forget my country. Chinese style is in its prime!"
The president of the National Conservatory of Music personally came to his door. "Mr. Su, the national team needs you. Please come out of retirement!"
When Su Yi returned to the stage backed by CCTV resources and a position in the military arts troupe, one song, "Blue and White Porcelain," brought the entire entertainment industry to its knees.
His ex-girlfriend looked at the now untouchable Su Yi and cried out in despair, "I was wrong! Please take me with you!"
Su Yi: "Sorry, the national team doesn't take trash."
Could the heroine be Song Yuqi? 😄
