Esports: Returning from Another Region to Save the LPL?

Lin Yi never imagined that while he was hospitalized with an illness, he would end up bound to an esports System.

Complete missions and get rewarded with champions? Sounds great. But the System insisted on putting him in the support role, the kind that hides behind the ADC, dutifully placing wards and protecting them. He had never thought much of traditional supports.

So Lin Yi took his newly unlocked Camille and slipped off to an internet cafe to play ranked. He kicked opponents at level one, invaded at level three, and caught the other team off guard with a “double-kick.” When things went well, he thought he was a natural. After getting schooled a few times by a former Master-tier friend, he started questioning his whole life.

Even stranger, the System’s rewards seemed to be building his support instincts for real. He could hold his own in Silver, and even in Diamond. The viewers in his livestream were stunned: hadn’t this guy always said he wouldn’t play support?

From internet cafe ranked games to livestream antics, from rejecting support to taking the professional stage, Lin Yi accepted missions, claimed rewards, and got schooled along the way, inching closer to the World Championship he didn’t want to miss.

This time, he would use the role he had always resisted to carve out a path to saving the region against all odds.
