In the final years of Great Chu, famine strikes once every three years. The land is divided among warlords, and a thousand miles of earth lie barren.

Seventh Prince Chu Yuan starts out defending a lonely border fortress. With the food supply cut off for seven days, rebel forces closing in outside, and people in the city reduced to eating their own children, he is driven to despair.

As he looks to the heavens in desperation, Chu Yuan accidentally travels to the modern Hengdian World Studios through an ancient jade pendant belonging to his mother.

Seeing meat and rice tossed into the trash all over the streets, he begins a frantic stint working on film sets so the soldiers and civilians in the city can survive:

"An extra? I'll do it! A dispossessed prince from a fallen kingdom, playing the role of a dispossessed prince is perfect!"

"What, a fight choreographer? With moves this flimsy, I'll teach you myself what it means to kill on the battlefield!"

When Chu Yuan returns to the border with ten thousand tons of fine rice and salt, plus drones and riot armor earned through his hard work, the rebels are laying siege to the city.

"The city has been out of food for ages. That brat Chu Yuan is as good as dead!"

Chu Yuan stands atop the city wall, with tens of thousands of soldiers behind him, all well-fed and clad in riot armor.

"Eight hundred thousand rebels? Let's see if my steel torrent agrees!"

Not long afterward, the strategist Zhuge Ming and the generals petition him:

"The current emperor is incompetent and unjust. The people of Great Chu are suffering!"

"Your Highness, please choose a day to ascend the throne!"

"I second the motion!"
