Sharp-tongued bankrupt boss vs. struggling, debt-ridden zoo director
[Light Contemporary Fantasy + Funny Daily Life + Comeback from Bankruptcy + Love Grows Over Time + Mutual Devotion]
The company declares bankruptcy, and his coworkers clear out all the office supplies.
By the time Peng Peng arrives, the only one left is their boss, Ju Qingrang, slumped on the floor.
“I'm all that's left. If you want me, take me away.”
So Peng Peng brings him to the zoo she's about to lose to bankruptcy and makes him work to pay off his debt.
Position: Poop Scooper. Codename: Orange Cat. Monthly salary: 2,500...
*
On his first day at work, Ju Qingrang is stunned.
The zoo grounds are unbelievably rundown! The animals are starving, all skin and bones!
Even the sign for the “Wonderful Zoo” has lost a few letters and now reads “Fewer Animals Zoo.”
The zoo is also saddled with over eight million in debt and could be auctioned off at any moment!
And every animal in the zoo is a complete lunatic:
The chairman is a gorilla! The African lion has dementia! The peacock is trying to mate with another species! And the ostrich hates men!
*
Ju Qingrang breaks down. “Is there anything normal in this zoo?”
Peng Peng scratches her head. It does seem a little hard to brag about...
“Does the panda count?”
“Where's the panda?”
“It's a day student. It didn't come in today.”
Ju Qingrang: ...
Peng Peng: If we can turn this zoo around, I'll give you half the shares. How does that sound?
Ju Qingrang regrets it so much he's practically green around the gills.
*
Well, what's done is done. He might as well make the best of it.
He revamps the grounds, builds up the zoo's popularity, makes money through livestreaming, and brings in new attractions and expansions!
Peng Peng never expected that, under their joint management, the dilapidated zoo would somehow...
Actually become a hit...
But when she offers him his promised shares, he doesn't even glance at the contract. He just stares straight at her the entire time.
