An unearthed iron box brought an unsolved case from more than eighty years ago right onto her desk.
A demolition site unearthed an iron box in the dead of night: a bronze token bearing a crow, an anonymous fragment of a document, and a small bronze object that might or might not be a seal. That very night, an unfamiliar public security department arrived at the scene: the Special Affairs Investigation Division. Its chief, Cao Shanshan, is a 25-year-old woman from Beijing. She is both a police officer and a demonic cultivator of Yin Sha. She had originally come to establish a local Special Affairs Investigation Unit, but once the box was unearthed, one thorny case after another landed in her lap: abducted young demons, evil cultivators harvesting living souls, and a shadowy group collecting magical treasures across the city... The deeper she investigates, the more everything points to an old file named in honor of fallen heroes: The Everlasting Light Archives. The people working beneath the lamplight have yet to realize that someone in the shadows is also searching for the box.
